Welcome to The Launch Export Atlantic Educational Trade Mission to Ottawa and Toronto, Ontario
The trade relationship between Atlantic Canada and Ontario is vital to the economies of both regions and to Canada’s overall economic cohesion. Ontario is Atlantic Canada’s largest inter-provincial trading partner, purchasing significant volumes of energy, seafood, minerals, and manufactured goods, and a growing range of services from the Atlantic provinces. In return, Ontario supplies Atlantic Canada with machinery, automobiles, technology, and a wide array of financial, professional, and educational services.
This ongoing exchange of goods and services supports employment, investment, and supply chain integration across multiple sectors, from natural resources to advanced manufacturing and knowledge-based industries. Efficient transportation and communication networks, including ports, highways, rail, and digital infrastructure, facilitate the smooth flow of trade between the Atlantic gateway and central Canada. By fostering innovation and collaboration in areas such as clean energy, technology, and infrastructure, this partnership helps both regions diversify markets, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen Canada’s economic resilience.
Launch Export Program
Participating companies have had eight months of comprehensive training and coaching on export, culminating in this educational trade mission to Ontario.
This educational trade mission provides companies with advanced export training that builds on the work completed throughout the program. Participants will take part in business meetings with key experts, potential buyers, industry associations.
The trade mission also strengthens commercial connections between Atlantic Canadian exporters and Ontario companies, further supporting inter-provincial trade and collaboration.
Launch Export is a project of the Nova Scotia Association of Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) and is made possible through the support of the Atlantic Trade and Investment Growth Strategy, a partnership of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the four Atlantic Provinces.
